Group Blackpink Rosé and pop star Bruno Mars' collaboration song "Apartment" (APT) broke the record of the highest number of K-pop female singers on the U.S. Billboard chart.
According to a chart preview article released by the U.S. music media Billboard on the 29th (November 2nd local time), Rosé and Bruno Mars' "Apartment" ranked 8th on the latest Billboard Hot 100.
This is noteworthy as it is the highest ranking solo song released by Rosé and the first career Hot 100 Top 10. It is also the highest ranking among BLACKPINK's other members' solo and group songs.
Previously, "Pink Venom" (22nd) held the best record for Black Pink's group song on Billboard, and "On The Ground" (70th) and Lisa "ROKSTAR" (70th) held the highest record for solo songs.
In particular, before Rosé's "Apartment," the highest ranking achieved by a K-pop female artist in "Hot 100" was 13th, which Blackpink sang with Selena Gomez in 2020.
At the same time, 'apartment' recently entered the top four on the UK official single chart 'Top 100', which is considered one of the world's two major charts along with Billboard in the United States.
Meanwhile, Rosé released her new song "APT." with Bruno Mars on October 18, creating a worldwide syndrome.
With this single, Rosé is achieving a career high by topping the domestic music charts, as well as topping the U.S. Spotify chart for the first time as a female solo artist in Korea, and topping the global Spotify daily top song chart.
